Has any one else got the ECB OA jackets?
I have one fleece and one mesh. I think they are very good. The fleece is warm. Now waiting for the ties.
I still have and wear my AU&S jacket and ties with pride

Received one of each type myself last week, both fit the ample girth quite well. Quality appears generally good [fleece edition very warm], tho haven't tested them in the match arena yet...... only quibble at this point is what appears to be flimsy stitching inside the breast pockets.

I only bought the fleece version. It worked very well last Monday at a colts game, with a fairly stiff breeze. The pockets are quite capacious, and the second breast pocket is quite a luxury.
It might be a while before I can use it on Saturday afternoons, because I still think it's best to dress in a similar way to my colleague.

I must admit I take my standard white coat, my ACU&S jacket and ECB jackets to each match and decide on a whim what to wear. I find I use the ECB jackets the most as they are so practical. At this time of year start of the match with the mesh one and after tea put on the fleece one.
I agree the breast pockets need something doing to them. I have put some Velcro in them, as it annoys me that they look a little untidy. I have passed this comment onn to the ECB. I also think they should do some decent water resistant trousers. I think the ones I got from the ACU&&S have worn a bit to quickly.
I hope the ECB ties are as good a quality as the jacket.
Either I am getting better or the ECB logo on the jackets has stopped so many complaints about my impending hearing loss and sight loss. Also less players have enquired as to my parents marital status.

I'm still rather annoyed there is no apostrophe in the ECBOA name.
I raised this matter at all levels of the ECB from when the ECBOA was formed, got replys from a number of people, but they all seemed to rely on the fact that the Coaches Assoication [sic]! doesn't have one.
Off-topic I know but I wanted my little rant.
I'm just ordering a fleece version of the ECBOA coats. I currently wear a coat produced by Ray Julian. This is a very good coat, blouson style with huge pocket, 2 breast pockets, ECB logo (with RJ under it) and two horizontal loops on the back. If anyone would like more info on that jacket I can PM you. I'll try and get a picture up, so people can see one.
I simply wear that coat regardless of the style of coat my collegaue is using. To be honest, at the end of the day both coats are white, and that in my book is good enough. I don't think that I stand out, due to having a different style coat, say, to my partner.

Have you tried the Action Trousers from Acumen? They are very hardwearing and have 9 pockets, most with zips.
Does anyone else think they are good?

Again, slightly off-topic, but I have an appointment soon to a white ball game. Clearly, it would be inappropriate to wear a white coat, but there doesn't seem to be a proper alternative out there. My colleague tells me he has a black ECB Schools' Coach jacket, but I don't. I've bought a black shirt, and I may be able to source a black jacket from Millets, or somewhere like that.
Anyone have any better ideas?

No real advice, as I've not had this situation.
Although funny story of a colleague who turned up to do a charity match at a county ground, only to find out when there that it was a white ball game. Luckily his colleague had a spare shirt.
I know more and more umpires who have been involved in games with white balls, and so it is certainly something that should be looked into and I don't think it would be too hard for the ECBOA to sell similar polo shirts and jackets say as they provide to the first class umpires.

I own both hats, although bought from different sources!
Both are very good, althought the Albion one is good as it is crushable. I like both, but would probably recommend the Albion one over the REO one.

God I really must be sad.
I looked at this as well when I was buying hats. I nearly went with one but to be honest I've got enough hats.
With the Tiley one I quite liked the look of the one with the mesh at the top. Especially good for those hot days I thought.
But as swerveman says I was a little unsure about the colour. Although from the sounds of it it looks ok after a few washes.
John let us know what you think of the hat when you get it. Like I said I think it's really good. I should also have said, it seems to be water proof (or water resitant, well doesn't soak the water up!) so it goes quite nicely with a blouson coat when it's raining. Also it's got SPF 50+ so you shouldn't burn your head on it. Really a super hat.

I am on my second Tilley hat, the Company have a very useful 'guarantee' arrangement whereby they replace their hats free of charge as they wear out. As a wearer of spectacles, I find that my hat is in use almost 100 per cent of the season..... there is a good size brim to keep away the suns glare as well as the rain spots. A chin strap is built in too, handy when the wind gets up. Have received no negative comments with regard to the colour, all in all it looks and feels fine..... recommended.

You mean you actually use the chin strap! God, I'd feel a bit of an idiot using it. Yes I'd seen their guarantee before, when I was looking at hats, something I've not come across before.
Interesting with the REO hats how you can't find anything out about the company! They sell a lot of hats on bowls sites in Australia but the company at least don't seem to have a website or any contact details that I could find.
