sorry if this sounds a simple question- I cannot believe I had this argument in a game yesterday- however I have searched for a definitive text answer but cannot find it. For bowling restrictions etc, how are the age groups defined? I am aware that the ages relate to the age at 31/8 in the season prior, so, for example, if someone, as at 31/8/12, has passed his 15th birthday and is now 15- is he in the U15 or U16 category?

Hi Daley
if a player was 15 on 31/8/2012 then by definition he cannot be under 15 so he would be under 16 for this season
hope this helps

Hi Daley
i find myself wondering how this conversation arose?
the team are responsible for advising you of the player age group on the team card and are accountable for any consequences arising from mistakes. if you are unhappy about the information you report it to the appropriate body who will resolve the matter as they see fit.
if however, you were asked to help and the team then disagreed with you, i wonder why they asked in the first place

Hi Daley if a player was 15 on 31/8/2012 then by definition he cannot be under 15 so he would be under 16 for this season hope this helps this seems most logical and answers the issues- so I am assuming that on the "aide card" the U15 means anyone who has not reached their 15th birthday but has reached their 14th

Cricket age groups for this summer are the same as for the football season that is just finishing. Therefore to be an under 15 for this season you must have been under 15 on 31/08/2012.
