It seems as though ICUS are going 'international'. Existing ICUS members are being automatically transferred to a new organisation - IICUS (International Institute of Cricket Umpires and Scorers). This appears to be a joint venture between the old ICUS and the New South Wales Cricket Umpires and Scorers Association as two NSW CU&SA people are on the board of the new organisation. This latter organisation holds the copywright to the majority of Cricket Australia's training material - so it will be interesting to see how this differs from that available through other organisations.
I shall continue to remain open-minded to IICUS. If their qualification were to become the worldwide benchmark in umpiring, it may be that anything that the ECB might come up with might be sidelined.
In associating themselves so openly with NSW CU&SA, IICUS may well have foiled any attempts by the ECB to undermine them. It will be very difficult for the ECB not to recognise qualifications accepted in Australia.
What would be very interesting would be if IICUS were to be able to sell their product to a wider worldwide audience.

Judging from www.umpires.tv/ IICUS is definitely alive and kicking developing contacts worldwide, doing good things, shame it was associated with BSK. ECBOA's website appears stagnant.
