Only a player nominated before the toss can keep wicket, as a substitute is by law (Law2.3) cannot. However, if the wicket-keeper became injured a "new player" can keep wicket with the consent of the opposition captain, as (Law 1.2) allows a player to be changed after the nomination (however, this is highly unlikely). So the very short answer to the question is no.

This is another situation where people may be confused by what they see in high-profile matches. The ECB has written a Special Regulation that, with the consent of the opposing captain, a sub can keep wicket without being a full replacement. However, this only applies to County games.

I can never understand why they abandonned the Law before the 1980 code when it used to say that the batting captain could specify where the substitute could not field. This left the whole issue to common sense and reasonableness in domestic games,
