Have you seen this interesting article in Dorset Echo of 18nov21
On the last day of the Dorset Cricket League’s (DCL) 2021 season nearly three months ago, Dorchester secured the First XI title over Poole by just four championship points after a dramatic final round of matches. However, the drama has continued into the off season for there are allegations DCL officials failed to apply penalties as required under the league’s regulations that involve championship point totals that suggest Poole, not Dorchester, won the 2021 title.
Under those regulations, teams in the DCL’s top two tiers are given a maximum of three days post-match to submit umpire performance reports to the Dorset Association of Cricket Officials (DACO). Those reports detail how each team assesses the degree to which the umpires standing in their game undertake their roles, information that is monitored by the DCL itself. For a first late submission offence, clubs are handed a £30 fine. but for each subsequent offence clubs five championship points are deducted.
What does your League do about Umpire Reports??
