Does anyone know why the Test umpires are holding sweaters and caps in their hands?
What has happened to their loops and clips?
Surely it is better to keep the hands free - and how do you signal Wide properly?

It might be something to do with the fact that they are ICC elite umpires, hence much better than we mere mortals who need loops, clips etc., plus they very rarely have to signal wides in test matches. Let's face it they even have somebody else checking front foot no balls too if a wicket falls. It must be good to be paid heaven knows how much for counting to six for five days.

Acumen Books sell a variety of loops to hang from your belt. We can also supply a short length of suitable material for you to stitch on your coat.
As regards clips, a standard office bulldog clip works well - I have mine tied (loosely) to one of the loops on my trousers through which my belt passes.
I think Mrs Allen in Norfolk still sells jackets / coats with loops attached to your specific requirements.
