From www.ldcc.org.uk"There was controversy at Moor Park in the ECB National Club Championship where Northern were denied a two wicket win. Paul Park hit a six over mid off to clinch the tie when a Westhoughton fielder, clearly over the boundary line, leapt up and parried the ball back into the playing area, ran back inside the boundary line and claimed a catch. With spectators all shouting "six" and the Northern players celebrating a win, the umpires took the word of the fielder that he was inside the line for the whole of the movement. The player later admitted that he was outside only to go back on that admission when the two captains were called into the Umpires dressing room. The umpires, saying that they had to take the word of the fielder, awarded the tie to Westhoughton."
