Can someone clarify? I am aware that a rule came out that a practice bowling should not involve the ball hitting the ground - then it was rescinded? but I cannot find any reference to it on the MCC website.
Can someone clarify please as I had a case yesterday of the bowler practicing bowling the ball very hard into the ground and I warned him informally but he said the rule had gone?

Law 17(b)(ii) is the relevant one. Unless there's a regulation in your competition which overturns this, you were right to warn the bowler, and could have continued with the process if the bowler didn't stop.

With respect tippexii, you seem to have missed part of the Law number, I think you may mean 17.3(b)(ii). This also refers to Law 42.3 Changing the condition of the ball.
