I've just been watching the IPL match between King's XI Punjab and the Mumbai Indians, and I'd be interested to hear the comments of other umpires on the dismissal of Jaywardene who was caught by Tiwary. The catch was referred to the 3rd umpire (Billy Bowden) who ruled that the catch was completed by Tiwary before he let go of the ball. I've watched the replay a number of times and I still have some concern that Billy might just have got this one wrong. I have a sense that Tiwary was still rolling as he let go of the ball and therefore not in control of his own movement

Like one or two other laws, part of this is open to opinion, and if in the opinion of the standing (or third) umpire in that game, the catch was completed fairly, then the batsman is out. Whether or not we agree is another matter, but bear in mind that the umpire making the decision is obviously considered by the ICC (regardless of whether we question his competency or not) to be one of the best umpires in the world today.
