On 11th March 2009, I heard from publishers that the reprint of Tom Smith has been delayed until mid-summer and that it will then be priced at £12.99.

I seem to recall that the ACUS originally held the 'rights' to Tom Smiths guide, thereby taking any profit from its publication.
Am I correct with this? Does anyone know if those rights have passed on to ECBACO?..... and what was the cost prior to this year?
Apologies for so many questions, just looking to clarify the situation in my mind.
Thanks in advance for any info.

I believe ACUS handed "Tom Smith's" on to the MCC. The previous price was £10.00. Amazon are currently offering ten "used and new" from £12.50, the dearest two of which are offered by Galaxy Bookstore at a staggering £118.95 (plus £2.75 shipping).

A Special General Meeting of ACU&S was held at Lords on March 15th 2008 to consider various Resolutions of which one related to `Tom Smiths` The Resolution (a) "That with effect from 15th March 2008, the copyright and any subsequent royalties of Tom Smith`s Cricket Umpiring and Scoring be offered unconditionally to The Marylebone Cricket Club". The Resolution dealing with the disposal of the Association`s remaining assets was overwhelmingly approved by those members who attended the SGM. members at the meeting wee informed that The MCC has agreed future royalties from the sale of Tom Smith`s will be paid into the ACU&S Trust Fund. Tom Smiths was available at most good bookshops at a retail price of £9.99 each. For example, Waterstones in Bath always had two copies on the bookshelf.

Thanks, each. Managed to dig my copy out..... paid £9.99.
Good to see inflation is coming down nicely.
