Has anyone any advice or comments on Grading systems used by their local associations?
I've just been screwed by our grading committee and I'd like to present some cogent discussions points and alternatives before I resort to physically threatening them......

It isn't very easy to comment on your situation, particularly since we don't know what system is in place for grading umpires in your league bobo148. In our leagues (DPCL and DCCL) the marks are awarded by both captains whenever you officiate a game at Div4 standard or higher (whether this may change with the restructure I don't know), so any arguments would be with them rather than the Umpires Committee, or more accurately, the umpires' secretary. It might be interesting to hear how you think that your grading committee has "screwed" you, and why this may have happened. I look forward to hearing your response.

Again, without knowing the specifics it's very difficult to offer sensible comment.
All grading systems are essentially an attempt to rank officials in order of ability/performance, to ensure that the higher profile & bigger games are given to the officials who've demonstrated tey ar able to handle them.
Like Gooders, I'd be interested in hearing the details of the sytem in place, and why you think you've been hard done by in comparison with the other umpires on the relevnt list.
