Hi all. I read the following short article on Cricinfo earlier today: content-uk.cricinfo.com/england/content/current/story/377960.html and on the BBC: news.bbc.co.uk/sport1/hi/cricket/7724538.stmWhile player discipline is a problem, surely there are better ways to combat it than to copy football. Cricket has already been directly influenced by the '3 challenge' innovation in tennis (a system which I believe could be much improved) and now it wants umpires to take cards to matches as a means of disciplining players? Well I am stronglyy against this proposal (as I am with many things that take away from cricket's unique identity). If the problem gets worse, surely it would be more sensible to ban players for longer, even fine them too if necessary, not to throw a piece of paper in a player's face. Umpires are there to umpire, not to referee - that's what the match referee is for!

hi i totally agree with missing leg, the discipline of players is the captains responsibility not mine.this will create more problems than it solves, a yellow card is no substitute for the spirit of the game. it very sad that people who come out with this rubbish actually get listened to instead of sectioned. we do not need more gimmicks in the game but some common sense

'we do not need more gimmicks in the game but some common sense'
Sadly, we're encouraged to do this from ODIs:
- White Ball - Pajamas - SuperSubs - Powerplays - Free-hits - Bowlouts
