The lunatics have taken over the asylum. An Indian Test player makes a racist remark to an Australian. The Indians take the huff when this is correctly reported. The Indians threaten the ICC that they will run home unless the three match ban is lifted and, while we are on, we did not like some of the decisions from Steve Bucknor so we will run home if he is not removed from the next Test.
The ICC in their ultimate wisdom unbelieveably remove Steve Bucknor from the next Test. What a huge can of worms has been opened.
In my opinion Mr Bucknor is one of the best, and most respected, umpires at Test level. We have all had the odd bad game and what has happened here is that Mr B, on reflection and after many slow motion replays no doubt, has been perceived to have made some errors. I do not know if he did or not but these decisions will have been made in good faith and should be accepted by all the players.
To be removed is absloutely outrageous. The ICC say that the decision to replace Steve has been made "in the best interests of the game". I beg to differ, the decision would appear to have been made "in the interests of keeping the Indians sweet because we stand to lose an awful amount of money if the Indians run home in a big huff".
Would anyone care to prove me wrong here?
We even have the likes of Harold Bird agreeing with this and stating that Steve should have retired. (I have had to use his Sunday name here as whatever anti-filth software is on this site seems not to like Harold's normal nickname and wanted to call him Thingy Bird!))
I repeat, the lunatics have taken over the asylum, the world has gone mad.
