I wonder if anyone has produced an Index of the Law Book? The Blue book does have an "index" but it is only a list of the Laws. When trying to find an answer to a Law question, there appears to be no way of finding all the relevant entries. The "old" Law Book did have an Index. This did prove very useful, not least at Local Association meetings when teaching new umpires. Anyone any ideas?

Is this because there are no index's , or there is one that everyone else knows about, or is it as stupid question? Comments please!!

There's a search on the page www.lords.org/mcc/laws-of-cricket/laws/For instance, search for no ball, I get the following which strangely omits the entries in Law 41. Law 38 - Run Out *38.1 Out Run out* Either batsman is out Run out, except as in 38.2, if, at any time while the ball is in play, he/she is out of... Law 39 - Stumped *39.1 Out Stumped* *39.1.1 *The striker is out Stumped, except as in 39.3, if ... Law 21 - No ball *21.1 Mode of delivery* *21.1.1 *The umpire shall ascertain whether the bowler intends to bowl right handed or left handed, over or round the wicket, and shall... Law 22 - Wide ball *22.1 Judging a Wide* *22.1.1 *If the bowler bowls a ball, not being a No ball, the umpire shall adjudge it a Wide if, according to the...

That is very helpful, I should have thought of that! However, it does appear to have considerable limitations compared with the previous Law Book index. Only preselected (by MCC?) search criteria are accepted. Although the search facility is certainly helpful, in my opinion, it still falls short. Has anyone seen an index, however imperfect???
