Number 6, the only question I would ask, bearing in mind Darrell Hair and that infamous Oval Test Match, if you are, with your colleague, appointed by ECB to take charge of a match in either the Cockspur Cup, or the National Village Competition, then who needs to see your insurance details? If they refuse to play if you're umpiring, then the offending side could be reminded that you have the authority, along with your colleague, to award the match to the opposition, for a refusal to play in accordance with the rules of the Competition, and the laws of the game, but don't rely on backing from the ICC Not ECB appointed on this occasion. I was invited by one of the teams and the club wanted assurance that I was insured.

So they "don't know you from Adam", but contacted you to invite you to umpire a National Cup Competition, I wouldn't have thought that was allowed by the governing body.

Amessage sent to all ex ACUS committee members.
Winding-up the affairs of the Association is approaching the final stages, consequently it is now possible to commence the process of re-paying subscriptions to those ACU&S members who did not transfer to ECB ACO. This instruction is primarily in respect of those ACU&S members who paid either by cash or cheque through their RFO. You can assist in the re-payment. We will soon require from you a list of all those members in your Region who paid by cash or cheque. Upon receipt of the list a cheque to the total value of the collective subscriptions will be forwarded to the RFO to facilitate distribution of subscriptions to individual members within each Region. In addition, 35p per member listed will be added, to defray the cost of posting. The membership data base is stored in Microsoft Office Excel. It would be of great assistance if each RFO could forward their list of members using Excel. If you do not have access to Excel perhaps you could seek the co-operation of a colleague within your Region to convert the list. Those ACU&S members who paid by Direct Debit and who have not transferred to ECB ACO will receive re-payment via Direct Debit, and I am dealing with that. Those members who transferred to ECB ACO will be credited the difference by ACO. Overseas members will be paid separately. The process of re-payments will, for practical reasons, be carried out over a period of time. At this stage it is not possible to state which Region or which group of members will receive their re-payments first, or when the re-payments will be made. Your assistance in this matter will relieve the pressure on myself and other Officers, and will mean that the re-payments are made earlier than otherwise be the case.

I was a member of ACU&S and ECBOA before the merger so I didn't need to transfer from ACU&S as I automatically became a member. I also paid ACU&S by Direct Debit but my Direct Debit has been deleted, so my question is how do I get a refund?

Your bank details should still be on record and the treasurer will issue a credit by BACS transfer to you account irrespective whether your direct debit is active or not.

Please remember that ACUS relies entirely on voluntary effort and officers have been overwhelmed with all the winding up issues.
ECBACO does have a paid staff but they cannot access ACUS records without the permission of each individual because of Data Protection regulations.
Obviously this does not excuse individual aberrations but please make allowances for the volunteers who did not necessarily agree with the ballot but are trying their best whilst doing their day job!

I am reliably informed that those members of ACU&S within the SE Region who paid their 2007/8 subscriptions by cheque should expect their repayment cheques within 7 days.
Chris Rawson has just received notification from John Rushton that the necessary funds have been transferred to the ACU&S SE Region bank account.
DD payers should have received their refunds a couple of months back.
Overseas members will have to wait a little longer until John Rushton is able to validate the final list and transfer funds. Regrettably these refunds will only be available in Sterling or Euros and members will have to pay the bank exchange charges.
If it is of any help, Acumen Books will accept this money as crediat against purchases from the appropriate country to avoid double exchange charges.
