Hi all I gave FOUR no-balls this weekend (over two games) for keepers encroaching past the stumps, including one which had clean bowled a batsman. In the second game, the keeper and captain were furious - they were convinced the law only applied when the keeper catches the ball in front of the stumps. Fun times. Anyway, I recall a while ago seeing a resource linked from a thread here, with photos showing the effect of parallax on making such a call, showing the benefit of standing in line with the bowling crease versus the popping crease. I'd really like to find that, so I can share it with our league administrators. We have invigilators who visit games to make sure the umpires are behaving themselves, and I've had two separate inspectors criticise me for standing in line with the popping crease when the keeper is standing up. Given the four no-balls this weekend, and the likelihood that I've have missed all four if I'd been in line with the popping crease, I'd like to share those pics with the admins and suggest we workshop it at our next association meeting in a couple of weeks' time. Trouble is I can't find them in the archives - can anyone help me locate them? Thanks in advance!
