How are you getting on with the new ACO guidance booklet on weather etc?
Whilst it is important to play as much cricket as possible, please remember safety of all participants.
I regret first class county matches still tend to be suspended at the smallest excuse - although the recent snow was a legitimate reason to stop!
We also had one occasion when the two umpires insisted on starting play but the two captains refused. It was knock out match that had been re-arranged and had to get a result that day. Whilst the ultimate decision rests with the umpires, I would suggest that you do take other views into account!

I've been fortunate that both my games so far have been played in nice weather with no issues about rain. I think the new guidance is fine - as far as I'm concerned the only substantive change is that one umpire's opinion is now enough to suspend / delay play. Assuming we don't get too many mavericks who need to leave early during the season, I can't see it causing too many problems. I agree that county matches sometimes get suspended earlier than club games would, but I would make 2 points - if someone gets injured in pro cricket, it's their livelihood and career at stake, rather than their hobby
- at county ground umpires and players can rely on all relevant areas being effectively and efficiently covered, which isn't the case at the majority of club grounds.
