'You are reminded that if your subscription is not paid in full by whatever method by 31 January 2008 your membership will be lapsed and your ACU&S Insurance cover will cease. In addition, you may lose any Umpire’s GL4 (Oral)/Scorer’s Standard/Special Overseas examination credits.'......... from the ACUS website news document dated 6.9.07. I don't recall seeing this note in last Autumns Subs information, though I may be wrong. Is there some sort of veiled threat here?....... renew your membership or we'll delete some of your qualifications! What do we think?

There is nothing new here. The ACU&S have always had this 'sanction' in place because it was found that some members regularly allowed their membership to lapse for a year or so to avoid having to pay a subscription each year. Hard to believe, maybe, but true.
Those who do not pay their subscriptions on time, a substantial minority unfortunately, do cause Regional Finance Office a great deal of additiuonal work and expense (posting chaser letters).
